Where has the time gone?

Okay so I feel really bad not posting anything in such a long time. It seems that when you have a 1 year old there is barely any time to do anything any more. Bradley turned 1 on July 28th and started walking a month after that, well he was trying to walk before that but he really didn't master it until he was 13 months old. Now we have a kid who has been walking (and sometimes trying to run) which doesn't give us any time to rest except for nap time.
Bradley is growing up so much he is out of the crib (well he wasn't really a crib sleeper anyways he either slept on the floor on a mattress in our room or in our bed) and into a toddler bed. He is sleeping in his own room and sleeping through the night also!!! This makes us so happy to have our bed back to ourselves and also we all get a better night sleep. Sometimes he even lets us sleep past 9 am which is wonderful.
Our new house is just wonderful and feels so much like home. We love our new ward (but still miss our old ward) it is such a different atmosphere with families moving out or in every week and tons of kids all over the place. We just got called to be in the Nursery and I am so excited for that calling because not only do I love to teach nursery and play with all of the kids, Bradley gets to be in the nursery 5 months early!! This means that Mommy can actually be in church instead of walking the halls. Braldey loves nursery and is one of the better behaved kids in there.
He is such a fun kid and we just adore him. I will post some of his 1 year picutres a little later. I hope all is going well with everyone and that everyone is healthy and happy.

As Amelia explained, we've been a bit busy! Nonetheless, I wanna wish you all a Happy Father's Day, today! I also wanted to show you Bradley's new trick. He now knows how to safely get off the bed, not just fall off, he can let himself down, so here is a lil' video, oh and you'll be excited to know that he is starting to stand on his own for a few seconds at a time. here's the video!

A Busy few Months

It has been a few busy months!! We just bought a house and will be moving in about a week!! Lee graduated College and got a new job at a great place. He is designing software training cds. Bradley has been growing like crazy and is cruisin the furniture and crawling all over the place. He has been getting into everything and trying to play in the toilet and climb up the stairs. He is almost 11 months old!! I cant believe that it has almost been a year since he was born!! I am still at Staples but now working part time so that I can spend more time with Bradley. We have just been packing up everything in our house so that it is easier to move when Friday comes. I can't believe that we have so much stuff!! Our new home is in Cedar. It is a brand new condo with granite counter tops and tile floors and nice carpet. The color scheme is exactly what I wanted to have for my house and I dont have to do any renovating or painting!! It is 3 beds, 2.5 baths and a cute little backyard. It is great because we are moving right next to our friends from the ward that we are in now...they just moved to their new place like 2 or 3 months ago. And there is a great park that is 8 condos down from our condo so there is a place for Bradley to stretch his legs when he is older. I am just so happy to have found a great house for a great price!!
Soon I will post pictures of the house and us since Bradley looks different every week!!

A Mini Surprise!

Well, My Mom has a new baby Mini-horse! Her name is Dakota, or Kota as we call her. She was a total surprise! We didn't even know that the Mom, Sweetie, was pregnant. You see, Sweetie hasn't been able to breed since we got her and Shadow (The Daddy) 5 years ago. She lost alot of weight a few years ago because of teeth problems, so we had her on a high protein diet to help her gain weight. Well she apparently got pregnant shortly after she started gaining her weight back. You couldn't even tell because she didn't look any fatter than the male! By the way did you know horses are pregnant for 11 months! Wowzers! anyway

Our Idaho Trip

It was fun to go and see the Olympics but it was such a LONG LONG LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG Trip!! Bradley hates the car seat anyways so I was worried about him being happy in the truck for such a long time. By the end of the trip he seemed to do better in the car than he ever had before. So I guess the long hours in the car and the screaming child some of the time was worth it because he doesnt seem to mind being in the car to bad...now it is just getting him to like getting in the carseat and getting out of the car seat.

While we were traveling up to Idaho we found a town with my maiden name Holden!!

Bradley really liked to drive the car. He was so happy to get out of the carseat and start driving the car.

We went to see "Paul Blart, Mall Cop" while we were in Boise and there was a trailer for the next Harry Potter movie and Bradley was totally amazed with the commercial. I think that we have to take him to that movie because Bradley loved the trailer.

Here is Bradley with his cousins William (Liam) and Alex and his Grandpa Wiley. Liam is a little less than a year older than Bradley and is only like 2 inches longer and 4 lbs. heavier than Bradley. It was so fun to see those two kids playing with eachother.

I told you he was starting to chew on everything. I did wipe it down with a wet one and then a diaper wipe so I wasnt letting him just eat the table without cleaning it!! This was at the Red Iguana in Salt Lake. It was DELICIOUS!!

Our sweet little girls (our adopted nieces) that we got to see while in Idaho. This was the first time that they got to meet Bradley and oh how they loved him.

Special Olympics World Winter Games

We were able to go to the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Boise Idaho. We got to see Lee's sister Chrissy compete in the Figure Skating. She won Gold in her division and we were so excited to see her and her competition. It was the first time that I get to see her perform! It was such a fun time that we had with all of our family!

SOOOOO... I though that one tooth coming in was a nightmare...but since I posted the last post he has yet another tooth in his tiny mouth. He has both bottom front teeth now and man are they crooked!! They are just like his daddy's teeth. Once I get a picture of them I will post them but for now I can only see them when he is screaming because when I try to look in his mouth his tongue comes sticking out so we cant see them. I hope that his top teeth wait at least a month so that Lee and I can recouperate from this teething session before the next comes. But I still love being a mom and no matter how cranky or how loud his screams get (which is pretty loud...my ears ring sometimes) I still wouldnt trade that kid for anything in the world!! I LOVE BEING A MOMMY!!!!!!

Bradley's main mode of transportation for the time being is rolling around. He always seems to get into places that he cant move any farther. Here he is underneath his swing after he spent about 2 minutes swinging his swing with his feet. I guess he knew what that thing did and enjoyed playing with the underside of his swing.

Bradley's First Tooth!!

This last week Bradley had his first tooth break through his gums!! It has been a bitter sweet thing....sweet because my baby is growing up and becoming a big boy! Bitter because he was so cranky and had a low grade fever, he threw up and everything. It was not a fun Saturday for me! But I am so glad that he is finally getting teeth...I shouldnt be saying finally because he is only 6 months old but I think that he will enjoy cruching on things which will help us keep him distracted at church. Thank goodness that he only had a fever for a day and only threw up once so I am hopeful for the next teeth that are to come.

It has been so fun having a baby for the holidays...everything is his first! His first christmas, his first new years and his first baby foods!! We had our good friends Jon, Cassie and their son KJ over for the New Year and it was so fun having two kids around for it...except for the fact that KJ didn't go to sleep until 2 am!! And Bradley woke up when I kissed him at midnight and didn't go to sleep until 2 am also! I got a new camera for christmas and it takes picutres so much better than my old camera! So hopefully I wont be posting any more blury pictures!! I hope to be posting some of the way cute videos that we have from my camera too but Lee said they were acting funny! You will just have to see if they will work or not. Well anyways here are some pictures from New Years eve and New Years Day!

Hey Everyone! I hope you all had an excellent Christmas! We sure did, and I think Bradley really loved having his Grandma and Grandpa Lane, Grandma and Grandpa Holden, His Aunties, and puppies with him for his first Christmas! We went to Glendale, Ut at my parents, were we got snowed in! We got lucky the roads were clear the days we drove up there and left, but while we were there we had tons of snow (around 2 feet or more). As you will see from these pictures, we had a great time playing in the snow and playing with presents!

Trying to Sit Up!

Bradley is getting closer and closer to sitting up. Here are some when we were trying to get him to roll onto his tummy but he wasn't having any of that so we started to see if he could sit up by himself. We just had the boppy around him to catch him when he fell but he always seemed to find the opening in the boppy to fall out of even when we would turn it so that he wouldn't fall that way. Mybe one day we will actually catch him rolling onto his back on film!

Maybe one day I will get a camera that can take pictures faster so that when he moves the pictures wont always turn out fuzzy :(

Bradley is getting so big!

It is amazing how big babies get so quickly. Every time I take a picture of Bradley it seems like looks completely different than the last time I took a picture of him. It is getting colder here and so he is becoming a baby Eskimo in his winter stuff.

Also with Halloween just around the corner we are getting him his first Halloween Costume and Halloween basket and everything. It is funny when you have a kid you start dressing up again and I am totally excited about every holiday now. I have always loved this time of year but I am so excited about Christmas I can barely contain myself. I have made myself not even look at the Christmas stuff when I am at Wal Mart because I will probably get Christmased out before Thanksgiving gets here. I know that he wont even really care this year because he is too little but then next year I get to get excited again like this year because it will be his first year where he enjoys all of the holidays. This is a picture of the first day it snowed here and we were going out to get ice cream of all things. But we got this hat and as soon as I put it on him he looked like a little Chinese baby and I started to laugh which got me this somewhat smiley face from him. I have tried for weeks to get a smile on camera but he wont do it. I always seem to just miss it. But he loved his first day out in the snow even though I only let a tiny bit touch him because I didn't want him to get sick.

One day last week I had stayed home from work from the worst migraine that i have had since before I got pregnant and so Bradley and I had a pajama day while he was falling asleep I realized that he was flipping me off. I have no idea why babies do this since he has been doing it since he was just days old! There was a time for about a month before this that he wouldn't flip us off but I guess he decided to start doing it again.

He is starting to do so much more than he did a couple of weeks ago. He laughes a bit and is starting to roll from his belly to his back. I will post it as soon as he can do it for the video camera. He always seems to stop doing whatever he is doing when there is a camera on him. It bugs me because I want to document those first things but he is just camera shy. I dont blame him though I guess because I shy away from cameras too. But here are a few funny faces I was able to get on camera.

Sittin' Up like a Big Boy!

So, our little Bradley boy is getting less impressed with laying down all the time, and he is loving sitting up like big boy. You have to put a few pillows around him because he's still trying to figure out "why am I so wobbly?" But, he loves to look around and feel more like a part of the world as he sits up like a big boy!

First Shots

Today Bradley had his first shots. I was really nervous all day because I had to work and then take him into the doctors and then go back to work and I wasn't sure how he was going to do with the shots becasue he didn't get any in the hospital when he was born. Plus I was nervous becasue I hate neddles and I wasn't sure how I would be around them. But I was okay and actually looked when they were being done so that I could make sure that they were being nice to him (well as nice as you can be while poking a baby). He did really good! He only cried through the shots and for about 3 minutes afterwards. But then he just slept for most of the rest of the day. But Lee did say that when he is up his cries are so sad sounding becasue his little thighs hurt :( But I am still really suprised at how well he did with the shots. Now if he can be a better shot taker than I am, we will be good.
Bradley is growing well, he is 11 lbs. 15 oz. and is 24 inches tall now. He is about in the 50th percentile in his weight for his age, 75th percentile in his height for his age and about 25th percentile in his head circumference for his age. It is amazing how much he changes in just a little time. I will get a more updated picture sometime soon.

What can I say, he's a Super-Genius! Yep, our boy found out how fun it is to suck your thumb. It always is fun to see how he becomes more and more aware of his surroundings. He is also starting to respond to your voice and sounds. When in his swing, he loves to look up at his mobile and watch the little stuffed fishes spin circles. Anyway, you can't help but love this little buddy and be amazed by how learns new things about the world around him, everyday!

PREGNANCY

I will now go back and talk about the pregnancy...dont worry nothing yucky but just filling you in on the timeline. In October we quit taking the Fertility medacine that I had been taking for

a year since we couldn't get pregnant by ourselves. At the end on November we found out that I was pregnant...on our own! In December we had our first ultrasound. It was cool to see that Bradley was moving already at only 9 weeks along. My pregnancy was pretty easy, no morning sickness, no hormones (seriously ask Lee!) and no crazy craving. I never asked Lee to go out in the middle of the night to get me watermellon.

In March we had the ultrasound to see what he was. It was so funny because the ultrasound tech put the thing on my belly and said well I am glad that you wanted to know what you are having because he isn't shy about showing you what he is! The next few months went by with tons of movement from him especially when I would lay down at night. The only problems that I had in my last trimester was swolen feet and a scare about having Gestational diabetes which ended up being nothing. One of the coolest things that happened while we were pregnant was that my sister Mallory was pregnant too. At about 8 months we were able to take belly pictures together which was a ton of fun. Mallory was due 2 weeks before I was so we were pretty close together.

About three weeks before I was due I was at work and thought that I was going into labor so I ran to the doctors office to see if I was and my substitute doctor (my doc was out of town) said that I was in Latent Labor which means that I am in labor but it isn't active so I was sent home to wait until the labor became stronger. I went in two times in the next week with no change in my labor so I just waited until there was something more painful happening before I went back to the hospital. A week before my due date my sister Mallory was getting induced since she hadn't gone into labor yet and we were planning on going down to St. George to be there for when she had her baby...but at 4:30 that morning my water broke so we obviously weren't going to St. George. I was sure that we were going to have our babies on the same day but my labor was fast and furious and I had Bradley at 12:18 that afternoon. Mallory's baby was born at 8 the next morning so they are about 20 hours apart. They are both doing great and at 2 weeks old we had baby pictures done together. At birth Lucy( the one on the left) was 8 lbs. 9 oz. and Bradley (on the right) was 6lbs. 9 oz. but now Bradley has caught up to Lucy and I wouldn't be suprised at all if he passes her up with the way that he eats.

I absoultely love being a mom and recomend it to everyone!

About Us

I though I would start our blog by telling you our story...Lee and I met while working at Target. We dated for about three weeks before we got engaged on October 30, 2004. We got married in the St. George Temple on March 12, 2005. We lived in St. George, Utah for a couple of months after we got married and them moved to San Diego, California for the summer to sell security systems. Once the summer was done we moved back to St. George to finish our Associates at Dixie State College. We graduated from Dixie in May 2006 and moved to Cedar City, Utah so Lee could get his Bachelors in Illustration. We are still living in Cedar and love the small town life. Okay so Cedar is not that small but compared to Fairfield where I grew up it is TINY!!! We just had our first child on July 28, 2008!! It took us a year of fertility treatments before we got him (without the drugs a month after we quit taking them!). He is growing up so much it is insane! He is already about 10 pounds at only 6 weeks old.
